R.I.P. Robert B. Parker
Robert B. Parker, working at his desk, died of a heart attack on January 19th, Edgar Allan Poe’s
birthday. Almost as influential as Poe himself, Parker is at least partially responsible for a
host of contemporary writer’s careers, from Harlan Coben to Robert Crais to Michael Koryta to
Steve Hamilton to Reed Farrell Coleman. Thank you, Mr. Parker, for Spenser and Hawk. Click
here to read the obituary in his local paper, The Boston Globe.
